ZHONGSHAN, China — 21 October 2026. Zhongshan Chunfeng Saw Industry Co., Ltd., manufacturer of FREDSAW circular saw blades, has completed its participation in ALUMINIUM 2026, the international trade fair for the aluminium industry, held at Messe Düsseldorf from 6 to 8 October 2026. The company exhibited at stand 5N05.
The stand was built around one product family: circular saw blades for cutting aluminium. Two blade technologies were presented side by side — tungsten carbide (TCT) and polycrystalline diamond (PCD) — across a diameter range from 100 mm to 1800 mm.

Why the specification matters more than the catalogue
An aluminium saw blade is not bought by diameter alone. Three variables decide what a blade actually does on a line: the steel body, the tooth material, and how the tooth geometry is ground.
The bodies on show were produced from 75CR1 steel plate — a cold-rolled alloy chosen for the stiffness a thin, stable blade needs at high spindle speeds. TCT blades carried tungsten carbide teeth from Ceratizit; PCD blades carried polycrystalline diamond tips for runs where tool life, not purchase price, is the governing cost.
Both families are finished on Vollmer CNC grinding equipment from Germany. Grinding is where tooth geometry is actually held — and tooth geometry is what determines whether a cut comes off burr-free or needs a second operation. It is also the reason the company quotes tool life gains of up to 30–50% against conventional blades in comparable aluminium cutting.
TCT or PCD: a cost-per-cut question
The two technologies are not a good/better ranking. They answer different cost structures.
TCT is the general-purpose choice for aluminium extrusion and profile cutting: broad diameter coverage, predictable sharpening cycles, and the lowest entry cost per blade.
PCD is specified where a line runs long campaigns on abrasive aluminium alloys and blade changes are expensive — diamond tips hold their edge far longer, so the higher unit price is recovered in fewer stoppages.
The practical question is not “which is better”, but “what does one blade change cost this line, including the downtime”. That is the calculation the company works through with buyers.
OEM / ODM and custom diameters
As a professional manufacturer, Fredsaw produces to customer specification rather than only to a standard catalogue: diameter, bore and tooth configuration are set against the customer’s drawing and machine. Blades are supplied under the FREDSAW and CHUNFENG marks, and under buyer brands for OEM/ODM programmes.
